Access Statement for Joe’s Lodge Bunkhouse, Talgarth
The bunkhouse parking area is approached off Bronllys Road. Going south into town centre from Bronllys, turn left into New Lane by the Great Barn. At the Hay Road end of the lane you will find an agricultural gate on your left giving access to the rear of the property.
There is a is a level concrete parking and reversing area with level concrete paving pathway around the perimeter of a raised gravelled garden area. There are four steps up to the rear porch and double rear doors onto the covered porch and entryway of Joe’s Lodge. Interior and exterior doors on this porch are double doors.
Front access off Hay Road is level with no step from paving outside to interior of bunkhouse. Single door at entryway, but double door to interior and rear hall.
Spacious ground floor accommodation is all on one level with full sized fire doors to all internal rooms and double swinging doors for access to rear hall.
Kitchen has work surfaces and low-level oven, fridge and freezer with microwave on the counter.
The large lounge with ample natural lighting has access through two doors.
There are two large bunkrooms sleeping 10 each. One has low-level bunks with extra headroom. The other has conventional, manufactured wooden bunks. There are two small bunkrooms, sleeping 3-4 people. One has an en-suite bathroom with low-level WC, hand-basin and bathtub.
Separate men’s and women’s toilet and shower facilities are provide and there is an easy access extra wide shower in the women’s bathroom which has one step up to enter it.
WCs have separate stalls, none is wheelchair adapted but the WC in the en-suite bunkroom has transfer space.
Service Dogs are welcome. Public transport is available on Hay Road with a bus stop about 100 metres from the Lodge.
