About Joe’s Lodge
Joe’s Lodge is a bunkhouse located in the little market town of Talgarth in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. The bunkhouse sleeps groups of up to 27 in two large bunkrooms and two smaller bunk rooms set up for leaders or staff (one is en-suite). There are separate men’s and women’s facilities with showers. This is a comfortable place for smaller groups or multiple families. It makes a good base for a wide range of activities in and around Brecon Beacons National Park.
Whatever you want to do, we can provide the right place for your group and your gear. There are shops, cafes, public transport and other facilities within 500 yards. At the same time you can be out on the hills in five minutes or in a canoe or sailboat 15 minutes from our door. The Black Mountains rise above us in front and the rear of the bunkhouse faces the Brecon Beacons.
We offer group accommodation for sole occupation by advance reservation and individual accomodation when the hostel has not been booked. We are not the luxury end of the bunkhouse market but the lodge is warm and comfortable and equipped for the needs of most groups. There is a common room as well as a full and well appointed kitchen and a garden. We have off street parking for up to six vehicles and storage space suitable for handling bikes, canoes, kayaks, field school gear or other equipment. We are flexible, and for longer bookings can reconfigure the place to give you an extra classroom or office for instance. We can also provide extra support for educational programmes and help you with other arrangements and advice that will help make your stay what you want it to be.
